Privacy policy and personal data

At Rentamotos Colombia we respect your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data under Colombian Statutory Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1377 of 2013 (compiled in Decree 1074 of 2015) and other Colombian data protection rules.

2. Data we collect

• Identification: full name, ID or passport number, nationality and date of birth.
• Contact: email, WhatsApp or phone number and your hotel or accommodation address.
• Documents: photos of your ID or passport and driving license (both sides), required to sign the rental agreement.
• Electronic signature of the agreement and the verification code sent to your email.
• Booking details: motorcycle, dates, delivery city, helmet size and notes.
• Payments: payment reference and amount. We do not store card numbers; card deposits are processed by the bank's card terminal or payment gateway.
• Browsing: technical cookies needed for the site to work and, only if you accept, analytics cookies (see section 9).

We do not collect sensitive data beyond what the agreement strictly requires. Our services are not offered to minors.

3. Purposes

• Manage quotes, bookings, rental agreements, deliveries and returns.
• Verify your identity and that you hold a valid driving license.
• Handle requests, complaints and roadside emergencies by WhatsApp, phone or email.
• Manage payments, security deposits, invoicing and insurance claims.
• Comply with legal obligations and requests from traffic, judicial or administrative authorities.
• Send you news about tours and promotions, only if you agree; you can unsubscribe at any time.
• Measure site usage in aggregate to improve it, only with your cookie consent.

4. Consent

By sending a form, messaging us on WhatsApp or signing the digital agreement, you give us prior, express and informed consent to process your data for these purposes. You may revoke it at any time, except where a legal or contractual duty requires us to keep the data.

5. Who we share your data with

We never sell or rent your data. We only share it with providers that help us deliver the service, acting as data processors:

• Google (Drive, Sheets and Gmail), where agreements and bookings are stored.
• WhatsApp / Meta, to communicate with you.
• Hostinger, our web hosting provider.
• Insurers and repair shops, in case of an accident or assistance.
• Authorities, when required by law.

Some of these providers store information outside Colombia (international transfer) with adequate protection levels.

6. Your rights

You may: access, update and correct your data; request proof of your consent; be informed about how your data is used; revoke consent or request deletion when there is no legal duty to keep it; access your data free of charge; and file complaints with Colombia's Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC).

7. How to exercise your rights

Email reservas@rentamotos.com.co with your name, ID, request and a way to reply.

• Inquiries: answered within 10 business days (extendable by 5 business days).
• Claims (correction, update, deletion or revocation): answered within 15 business days (extendable by 8 business days).

8. Retention and security

We keep your data for as long as the business relationship lasts and for the time required by accounting, tax and insurance rules. We apply reasonable technical and administrative measures: restricted access, protected accounts and encrypted connections (HTTPS).

9. Cookies

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser cookies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will publish the current version on this page with its update date. Effective from October 20, 2026.
