Day-by-day itinerary

DAY1Medellín → JardínFrom Medellín to southwest Antioquia

We leave Medellín for southwest Antioquia to ride the Western range. We go through the Amagá tunnels to Venecia, where we stop to taste its renowned high-altitude coffee. The route continues through Jericó and Andes, with spectacular curves and viewpoints, until we reach the charming town of Jardín, where we spend the first night.

DAY2Jardín → San FélixLeaving Antioquia for Caldas

We leave Antioquia behind and head into Caldas through Riosucio, Supía, La Felisa and La Merced. Our destination is San Félix, home to one of the most impressive views in western Colombia: the Samaná Valley, a breathtaking canyon. San Félix also hides a forest of wax palms that rivals the famous Cocora Valley. We spend the second night there, among these giant palms.

DAY3San Félix → SalentoRiding to the Cocora Valley in Salento

We ride toward the Cocora Valley in Salento via Marulanda and Manzanares. This stretch offers some of the most iconic landscapes of the Central range, with mountains and forests straight out of a movie. It is a long day, but every kilometer is worth a photo. We spend the night in the lovely town of Salento, in the heart of the coffee region.

DAY4Salento → MurilloUp to Murillo, Tolima

Today we head to Tolima, to the high-mountain town of Murillo, one of the most privileged viewpoints in the country. We ride through Toche and Anzoátegui before reaching Murillo, whose streets and viewpoints look straight at the majestic Nevado del Ruiz volcano. A climbing stage that rewards every curve with an out-of-this-world view.

DAY5Murillo → OtancheA route full of history and emotion

Day five is one of the most historic and moving routes of the trip. We descend from chilly Murillo, leaving the Nevado del Ruiz behind, into the Magdalena Valley. Our first stop is a moment of reflection at the ruins left by the tragic Armero avalanche, a reminder of nature's power. Then we ride through the charming colonial towns of Mariquita and Honda, architectural gems frozen in time. We finish in Otanche, Boyacá, famous for its emeralds, where we rest before crossing into Santander. A demanding day, but fully paved and full of stunning scenery.

DAY6Otanche → FloriánOne of Santander's best-kept secrets

Day six takes us to one of Santander's best-kept secrets: Florián, home to the impressive Ventanas de Tisquizoque, rock formations that look like giant windows carved into a canyon wall, with jaw-dropping views. It feels like discovering an untouched paradise, far from mass tourism, wrapped in silence and vast landscapes. A short but unforgettable day.

DAY7Florián → El PeñónThe heart of Santander, a place from another dimension

Day seven takes us to the heart of Santander, to a place that seems to belong to another dimension: El Peñón, known as the "Colombian Avatar", where nature has created whimsical shapes and landscapes reminiscent of the fictional world of Pandora. Our first stop is the mysterious La Tronera cave, an underground sanctuary full of beauty. Then we visit several more spots, each more impressive than the last.

DAY8El Peñón · Pandora ForestsFull adventure day in the Pandora Forests

A full adventure day exploring the Pandora Forests, including an exciting rappel descent through caves. A unique experience to connect with the wildest side of Santander and an unforgettable memory of the trip.

DAY9El Peñón → BaricharaOne of the contrasts that make Colombia unique

Day nine brings one of Colombia's great contrasts. On the way to Barichara, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved towns in the country, we stop at the breathtaking Hoyo del Aire in La Paz, Santander, a colossal natural sinkhole over 150 meters deep, said to be the second largest in the world. Then we continue to Barichara, where cobblestone streets, colonial architecture and golden light close the day.

DAY10Barichara → ZapatocaFrom Barichara to Zapatoca

From Barichara we ride to Zapatoca, where we spend the night. This picturesque town is known for its well-preserved colonial architecture and one of Colombia's most historic cemeteries, resting place of German landowner Geo von Lengerke. A charming town with a fascinating past.

DAY11Zapatoca → San Vicente de ChucuríZapatoca to San Vicente de Chucurí

We ride from Zapatoca to San Vicente de Chucurí to visit its fascinating caves and the impressive Topocoro reservoir. A day full of nature and landscapes showing the geological richness of Santander.

DAY12San Vicente de Chucurí → MedellínRide back to Medellín

We ride back to Medellín, closing this unforgettable journey through the mountains, valleys and páramos of Colombia. Twelve days of pure adventure, dreamlike landscapes, towns full of history and memories that last a lifetime.
