Nevado del Ruiz motorcycle tour: 5 days of páramo and high mountains

We leave Medellín for the city of Manizales, riding beautiful mountain roads through coffee landscapes. There we rest and get ready for the real adventure waiting in the days ahead.

We ride to the spectacular Nevado del Ruiz, climbing to about 5,000 m above sea level for unique páramo landscapes and striking views of the snow-capped volcano. Then we descend to the charming town of Murillo, Tolima, known for its traditional architecture, cool climate and amazing sunrises facing the volcano. We spend the night there, surrounded by peace and nature.

A true off-road adventure day. We ride to Anzoátegui on mountain trails through spectacular rural landscapes, circling the snow-capped peaks. Later we pass through the traditional town of San Juan de la China, where we take a break before continuing to our lodging.

We ride through Ibagué and Cajamarca and on to Toche, a magical place surrounded by mountains and nature. Finally we reach Salento, one of Colombia's most famous and beautiful destinations, in the heart of the coffee region and known for its landscapes, colonial architecture and unique atmosphere.

On our last day we head back north, enjoying more amazing mountain scenery and roads made for motorcycle travel, until we reach Medellín and close this unforgettable experience through Colombia's snow-capped peaks.
